Job Description	Key Responsibilities and Tasks:  Works with Service Manager and Service Provider to plan and coordinate installation, upgrade and patching of SAP ERP suite and related systems. Utilizes expert ABAP knowledge to execute regular performance analyses and/or analyze performance issues. Performs monitoring and manages/coordinates tuning and troubleshooting. Coordinates/validates system refresh, client copy, client export/import and new client setup.  Coordinates and/or assists with data loads and mass data updates.  Monitors and assists with management of printer and spool administration.  Configures and manages Solution Manager alerts for availability, performance etc.  Creates, manages and monitors batch jobs in Redwood and SAP.  Ensures stability, security, recoverability of the SAP and related systems.  Provides recommendations and SME analysis to facilitate evaluation, selection, design and/or implementation of new component systems or updates. Supports functional IT teams with design and implementation of hardware, software, database and related technologies.  Provides off hours systems support when required.  Participates in planning and execution of disaster recovery tests.  Develops and maintains policies and procedures.  Maintains technical infrastructure reference documents such as technical architecture, interface references, hardware and software assets.  Maintains currency with SAP releases and other technology advances so that the company can make best use of them as required by the business. Works in different functional areas depending on the expertise available. Engages with development team and supports development efforts. Engages with service-provider on the delivery and validation of all releases and application maintenance. Engages with service-provider on all change requests and supports incidents. Assists in setting up & follow-up quality-standards for development. Documents all system changes to align with VWR standard procedures. Provides ideas and suggestions, identifying the business areas where changes to business processes or new technology could benefit the company. Leads weekly case review meetings in partnership with service-provider. Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Profile	Skills, knowledge & experience: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience 5+ years experience in SAP Basis administration in Unix/Linux + Oracle environment with at least 3 years in ECC 6.0, BI 7.0, SM 7.0, Netweaver and BI Accelerator. Java stack and ABAP stack. 3+ years experience in database administration, systems analysis, design, build and implementation. 3+ years experience with Unix/Linux, Oracle, SQL Server and shell or Perl scripting. 3+ years experience in job scheduling, data extract and load. Expert in SAP BASIS modules and solid background in all SAP modules and applications Basic understanding of programming languages. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both independently and as a team member. Must be flexible with work hours to be able to support system maintenance and other off hour activities. Must possess good problem solving skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.  Knowledge of business/systems analysis gained through experience of over several years Experience, together with the necessary certified training, in the configuration and development of SAP Basis  Ability to provide cross training and enhance general communication at all levels Excellent time management skills with the ability to remain organized and focused in a highly volatile environment
